Phone number privacy settings — Best Virtual Number for Telegram
Telegram lets you choose who sees your phone number and who can find you by it, so set both before you share the account with anyone.
The two phone number controls
Telegram groups its phone number options under Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Phone Number. Two controls matter here.
The first decides who can see your number. Common options are Everybody, My Contacts and Nobody. The second decides who can find you by your number when they add it to their contacts. That control usually offers Everybody or My Contacts.
You can add exceptions to each rule for specific people. Telegram may adjust labels between versions, so read the screen in your own app. People who already saved your number may still match it to your account, depending on settings. Treat these controls as limits on visibility, not as full anonymity.
Settings for a virtual number account
An account opened with a virtual number is often meant to keep a personal SIM number private. The virtual number itself can still be visible unless you restrict it. A temporary number may also pass to another person later, as with many reused numbers.
Set who can see your number to Nobody or My Contacts. Set who can find you by number to My Contacts. Create a public username if you want people to reach you without any number.
Keep the account's use lawful and within Telegram's rules. VoIPStore's terms forbid unlawful, fraudulent or abusive use, spam and phishing. They also say VoIPStore is not responsible for bans or restrictions imposed by third-party services.
An illustrative check
Test the settings with help from a trusted contact who agrees to take part.
- Ask the contact to save the virtual number in their phone.
- Check whether your profile shows the number to them.
- Check whether their contact list matches the number to your account.
- Change one setting, wait a moment, and repeat both checks.
Record what each setting showed. If results differ from what you expected, review the exceptions under each rule. Then ask the contact to delete the saved number if it is no longer needed. This is a proposed check, not a reported VoIPStore test. Confirm current terms on VoIPStore's official site before you buy a number.
